Week 2 of camp proved to be another successful one! With a "space" theme and all of the traditions of Wisconsin Badger Camp it was a blast for staff and campers!
Badger Olympics were a great time; the rain held off, so the campers got to enjoy their cookout and outdoor olympics! Badger Olympics were full of fun; there was an obstacle course, relays, and so much more! Everyone was a winner up at camp!
The Badger Ball was also a huge success. With Thursday full of prepping for the ball everyone was ready to put their dancing shoes on!

Week One of Camp Coming to an End!
This week was our first week of camp for the summer. The campers and counselors alike all had a blast while participating in all the activities the week had to offer!
This week's theme was music, so they started their week off with some karaoke and continued to incorporate music into each of their activities. Like every week, the campers had Badger Olympics last night, Wednesday, it was a rainy night but we did not let that stop us. The campers competed in a couple of events like relays and a "record" toss! While each of our campers were winners they all got to enjoy some treats when the activities were completed.
This evening will be our first Badger Ball of the summer, so the campers are spending their day prepping and practicing some moves to break out at the dance!
Overall, it has been a successful first week and we continue to look forward to meeting our future campers and greet the returning ones!

Job's Daughters and Grand Bethel HQ Kelly Engbring Support Wisconsin Badger Camp
Wisconsin Badger Camp would like to personally thank and
recognize Kelly Engbring and Job’s Daughters for their commitment to our
organization for the past year. Kelly came
to us last summer looking to tour our summer camp and wanting to help. From that visit back in August until recently she and her
friends have been collecting items for our campers! From arts and crafts to swimming pool toys,
Kelly was able to collect hundreds of items and also raising over $450 for our
organization. Through the organization,
Jobs Daughters, Kelly worked hard to make a difference in the lives of our campers. Individuals
with disabilities have always held a special place in Kelly’s heart and she and
Job’s Daughters went above and beyond to help out Badger Camp. It is truly wonderful to see a senior in high
school have that much dedication and commitment to our organization. Being in Jobs Daughters has influenced her in
more ways than she can even express and Wisconsin Badger Camp is extremely
grateful for everything she and the organization did. They will be making a
difference in the lives of campers this summer and for many summers to
come. Thank you Kelly and Job's Daughters!!
Wisconsin Badger Camp is a residential summer camp that serves adults and children with developmental disabilities through outdoor recreation. Campers, regardless of the severity of their disability or ability to pay the requested camp fee get the opportunity to experience hiking, fishing, swimming, camping and much much more at camp!
Cruising 4 Campers a Success
Cruising 4 Campers
Saturday, June 1st,
marked the 4th annual Cruising 4 Campers fundraiser that gives all
proceeds to Wisconsin Badger Camp. Kevin Bailey has organized this event since
its existence. This year’s ride had
around 50 drivers and riders, and raised $1,000!
The Cruising 4
Campers route was 160 miles and started in Platteville at Red ‘n Debs. The stops were: Avoca, Boaz, Rolling Ground,
Wauzeka, Patch Grove, and ended at Yoders Bar in Rockville. There were raffle drawings and each
participant was given a playing card at each bar. The participant who had the winning poker
hand at the Yoders Bar stop won $75, but donated $20 back to Wisconsin Badger
Camp!
“Thank you to all
of the bars who participated in this event: Red ‘n Debs in Platteville, Lynch’s Bar in Avoca, Lonesome Dove in Boaz,
Murphy’s Rolling Ground Bar & Grill in Rolling Ground, Carol’s Bar &
Grill in Wauzeka, LuLu’s Bar in Patch Grove, and Yoder’s Rockville Bar in
Potosi. Without you this event would not
have been possible. Thank you to all
drivers and riders who came out to participate and support Wisconsin Badger Camp,”
Kayla Smith, Communications Director, said.
