Wisconsin Badger Camp is excited to
add new team member Alyssa Abing as the new spring semester intern. Abing is a senior at the University of
Wisconsin-Platteville majoring in Media Studies with a minor in Business
Administration. Abing will be assisting Wisconsin Badger Camp with grant
writing, fundraisers, social media and other marketing projects.
Abing grew up in Belmont, Wisconsin and
has been familiar with Wisconsin Badger Camp since a young age. Abing became
involved with Wisconsin Badger Camp in middle school by singing in the
Christmas Telethon at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Throughout the
years, Abing continued the tradition of appearing in the talent portion of the
telethon, which as a student transitioned into the production aspects of the
telethon through the Media Technology Services.
Abing says, “Working with Wisconsin
Badger Camp is particularly satisfying because I have a cousin with a developmental
disability. So I can truly appreciate the work of this organization and
couldn’t be happier to be a part of it “.
Wisconsin Badger Camp is an
organization that serves individuals with developmental disabilities by
providing quality outdoor recreation experience. The campers get the extraordinary opportunity
to go swimming, hiking, camping, and making friends that last a lifetime at
Wisconsin Badger Camp.
