Badger Camp Receives Grant from the George Family Foundation

     Wisconsin Badger Camp is proud to announce that it is the recipient of a $3,400 grant from the George Family Foundation.  This grant will help support our Crawford County campers through our Campership Program.  Wisconsin Badger Camp’s Campership Program is an ongoing initiative that was established to help provide financial assistance to campers who wish to attend. 

      The George Family Foundation is a private foundation established in 1996 in Prairie du Chien, Crawford County, Wisconsin by Roy L. and Geraldine E. George. The mission of the George Family Foundation is to assist those programs and individuals who have a vision and a plan to better the long-term quality of life. The George Family Foundation limits funding to Prairie du Chien, WI and surrounding communities as the founders prefer to benefit the area that has been their home throughout their lives.

    “It’s wonderful to see a foundation supporting its local campers,” Development Director, Kayla Leibfried said. “We greatly appreciate the George Family Foundation’s support of our mission.”

WBC Receives Grant towards Cedar Lodge

 Wisconsin Badger Camp is a proud recipient of a $2,500 grant from the K.C. Stock Foundation. This grant will go toward Wisconsin Badger Camp’s Cedar Lodge Improvement Project. This is the first time that Badger Camp has received a grant from the K.C. Stock Foundation, located in Green Bay, WI.

 Cedar Lodge was Badger Camp’s first lodge and was built in 1974. This lodge currently houses a small infirmary, dining hall, kitchen and female and male dorms. Cedar Lodge is our main lodge on camp where campers and their families/caregivers are welcomed and checked in. Because this is the oldest structure on camp it is in need of some improvements. The K.C. Stock Foundation’s contribution will help this project.

“We are very excited to receive this grant from the K.C. Stock Foundation for our Cedar Lodge,” said Development Director, Kayla Leibfried. “It is great to be able to see this foundation help us in maintaining and improving our facilities at camp for our campers.”  

Badger Camp Receives Grant from the Monsignor Thomas F Campion Special Projects Fund

Wisconsin Badger Camp is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of a $1,000 grant from the Monsignor Thomas F Campion Special Projects Fund.  This grant will be put towards our Campership Program.  Wisconsin Badger Camp’s Campership Program is an ongoing initiative that was established to help provide financial assistance to campers who wish to attend.  This means that our 19 Green County campers will receive the needed financial assistance to attend Badger Camp.   

The Monsignor Thomas F Campion Special Projects Fund was established in 2011 to provide lasting support for charitable, cultural, educational and recreational programs or projects in southern Wisconsin and/or northern Illinois.

“It’s great to see a foundation in Green County supporting campers from within their county through our Campership Program,” Development Director, Kayla Leibfried said. “We greatly appreciate the Monsignor Thomas F Campion Special Projects Fund ongoing support of our mission.”

Badger Camp 1966 Event

     On Saturday, December 12^th we will hold our first ever Badger Camp 1966 Event. The Badger Camp 1966 Event will replace our Annual Christmas Telethon so that we may still be able to raise funds to financially support individuals with developmental disabilities who wish to attend Badger Camp.

    The Badger Camp 1966 Event will include a dinner, guest appearances from retired Green Bay Packers players Jerry Kramer and Gilbert Brown, silent and live auction, live music, door prizes and more.   “Our organization is very excited to finally be able to announce our new event,” Development Director, Kayla Leibfried said. “The Badger Camp 1966 Event will be a way to still raise money to financially support our campers, keep our supports engaged and celebrate serving individuals with developmental disabilities since 1966.”

   Wisconsin Badger Camp looks forward to hosting this new event and to keep growing our relationship with the community. The Badger Camp 1966 Event will be held on December 12^th at 5:00 p.m. at the Holiday Gardens Event Center in Potosi, Wisconsin. Wisconsin Badger Camp Receives Grant from the Patrick and Anna M. Cudahy Fund

Wisconsin Badger Camp has received a $5,200 grant from the Patrick and Anna M. Cudahy Fund.  This grant will go towards the Campership Program that provides financial assistance to campers who attend Badger Camp; the grant will directly support 16 Illinois campers. Wisconsin Badger camp does not accept state or federal funding, the Patrick and Anna M. Cudahy Fund has played an instrumental role in assisting the Campership Program. 

The Patrick and Anna M. Cudahy Fund was founded in 1921. Currently, since the incorporation of the Patrick and Anna M. Cudahy Fund this foundation has continued its philanthropic work on an ever increasingly large scale, both in funds available and in the continuation of numerous charitable and educational endeavors.

“A big thank you to the Patrick and Anna M Cudahy Fund for supporting our campers from Illinois,” Development Director Kayla Leibfried said. “Receiving funding for our out of state campers is always wonderful to see.”

Wisconsin Badger Camp Receives Grant from the Courtier Foundation

Wisconsin Badger Camp is proud to announce it is the recipient of a $2,000 grant from the Courtier Foundation.  This grant will go towards our Campership Program that helps allow individuals with developmental disabilities attend camp regardless of their financial situation. This grant will directly benefit 236 campers from Dane County.  Wisconsin Badger Camp hosts approximately 900 individuals every summer and this financial support helps allow our campers to continue to come back. 

The Courtier Foundation was established in 1999 in Wisconsin and their main purpose is, giving primarily to organizations which provide services for children, and housing and other services for elderly individuals in financial need.  Since Badger Camp does not accept any state or federal funding, the Courtier Foundation has played a large role in the success of the Campership Program. 

“The Courtier Foundation has been a continued supporter of our organization for years,” Development Director, Kayla Leibfried said. “Their support of our Dane County campers is vital to the success of our Campership Program.”
